A LITTLE LOCAL KNOW-HOW

A great find. A thoughtful purchase.

A few simple habits help you shop with confidence.

1. Meet and inspect

Arrange to meet in a safe, public place. Check the product’s condition and that it matches the advertisement before agreeing to buy. Ask for clear front and back photos. Confirm the set, card number, language, and edition. For graded cards, verify the certification details with the grading company.

2. Keep payment in your hands

Avoid paying in advance for an item you haven’t seen. Never share passwords, one-time codes, or bank login details. Be cautious of payment links and anyone asking for an unexpected fee.

3. Ask a few questions

Talk to the seller about the item, why it is being sold, and what is included. Ask about whitening, scratches, creases, authenticity, and whether sealed packaging is intact. Confirm the price and collection arrangements directly with the seller.

4. Trust your judgement

If a deal seems unusually cheap or the seller puts you under pressure, take a step back. A Spotlight placement or verified business badge is not a guarantee of a product or sale.
